What is your approach to beauty & skincare?

This is a loaded question, but here is my condensed answer: I believe strongly that beauty starts from within- in both a literal and a figurative sense. There are so many intrinsic factors that affect the health of our skin, which is why I believe wholeheartedly in a holistic approach to skincare. My focus is on natural, plant-derived skincare products that deliver clinical results, in combination with non-invasive, regenerative modalities.

It’s my first facial. What should I expect?

I LOVE getting first timers, because I find most people don’t realize just how relaxing a facial can (and should) be. If it’s my first time seeing you, expect to spend the first 10-15 minutes going over your New Client Intake Form and discussing your diet and lifestyle, health history, current skin concerns, and what your goals are.

Do you include extractions?

Extractions are included in the CLARITY Holistic Acne Facial as needed, and in other facials as I see necessary. However, I believe very much in treating congestion at its root. Poking and prodding at the skin is not only often unnecessary but it inflicts trauma on the skin and weakens the skin’s fibers. Regular facials, pore cleansing exfoliation, detoxifying clay masks, and a healthy lymphatic system will naturally keeps your pores clear.

What product line(s) do you use?

My two main skincare lines are Laurel Skin (an organic, herbal line based out of Northern California) and Osmosis (a holistic medical line focused on corrective, results-driven products). I also like to support other skincare lines with similar values, so I will occasionally use products by Kari Gran, Heart Grown Wild, Green Envee, etc. just to name a few.

Why don’t you offer “ X, Y, Z “ ?

I became an esthetician because I am passionate about holistic skincare. There are so many things you are licensed to do as an esthetician, about 99% of which I have no interest in. I only offer treatments that I truly believe in, and it would be a disservice to both you and I if I tried to do it all! My service menu is small because I believe every facial should be customized based on what your skin (and your soul) needs on that given day.

What’s your favorite part of a facial?

The facial massage, hands down. Facial massage is so important for so many different reasons. In addition to generally being the most relaxing part of the facial, it also helps relieve muscle tension, stimulates lymphatic drainage, promotes micro-circulation so that your body is able to deliver nutrients to the face, improves elasticity, and stimulates collagen production.
